I honestly do not know what to do. I am in my senior year in nursing school and absolutely sick of it. I got lazy, which is the most pathetic excuse ever, but it is the only excuse I have. I do not know if my professors were referring to my assignment or not, since there are about 80 students in the class. I don't want my roommate to know that I copied her, and I don't want her to get in trouble either. If I confess or get caught, I will either a.) fail the class, which is not offered for another full year, or b.) get expelled from the school.
Of course, there is always the chance that the professors were not referring to my assignment, but I would still feel extremely guilty even if I were to get away with cheating.
I am at a loss as to what to do. What would you do in my situation? Please don't respond with answers about how dumb I am for pulling this and crap like that. Trust me, I already know how foolish it was.
What would you do in my situation?I cheated on a midterm assignment...?
Don't say anything, deny deny deny, if they say that the assignments are similar, well **** happens, next time do the work yourself.I cheated on a midterm assignment...?
Keep your pie hole shut. If the professors find out and tell you, ask them if you can do the assignment again or they can give you another HARD assignment. Then if they let u off the hook and give u an issignment, and it;s hard, email me. and I'll try to help you. :]
Keep your mouth shut unless you (or your roommate) are confronted by the professor. Don't let your roommate take the fall for it. Just don't do it again.
just wait and see what happens..let me know if everything goes good for you
Confess and like you said you may fail the class or even get expelled, but you feel better about yourself. Then the bad stuff hits you when you realize even if you're not expelled there will be a record on your transcript and you have to pay an additional year of tuition.
You can keep quiet and hope your professor is not talking about you. 50-50 chance you get caught and the above happens. If you're not caught, then you graduate and become a nurse but you feel a little guilty for lying but nothing you can't cure with alcohol. God probably kills a kitten because you weren't honest.
This is one of those times when the material (money and academic record) far outweighs the immaterial (your conscience)....and the unlucky kitten.
Okay, let's say you keep your mouth shut and they call you in anyway. How sincere do you think any claims that you know it was wrong and you feel really guilty about it are going to look if you had to be confronted about it in order to tell the truth? Or worse, let's say they try to pin it on your roommate. She's not going to be happy you got her into this anyway, but you think it's going to help if she finds out from someone else?
On the other hand, if you come forward on your own, there's a chance they'll be more lenient with you than what they're threatening to do now. It's a risk, but it's better than the risk you take by hoping to get away with it - and it's the only way to demonstrate that you truly recognize it was a stupid thing to do.
